Favorite Videos

Below is a compilation of my favorite videos with a short description of what they are about. I watch some of these regularly because they keep me motivated and inspired. Hope you enjoy and please send me your favorite ones! I love seeing new videos with great ideas. I will continue to add to this page and as you can see, I have a lot of TED parties at home!  ha.

Brene Brown: The power of vulnerability

One of my all time favorites. Brene Brown talks about how we could all be more connected if we weren’t afraid to be vulnerable. I think Brene Brown’s work is absolutely fascinating. She is an incredible speaker, and this one went viral this past year.

TEDxSF – Louie Schwartzberg – Gratitude

I watch this one at least once every couple of weeks. It reminds me of all the simple things in life I should be grateful for. When the young girl speaks half way through, it will melt your heart.

Enjoy Every Sandwich Book

This is actually a book trailer video but very simple and to the point. I liked it so much I bought the book and and reminds me to live in the moment. It also became my new food motto about slowing down and really enjoying my food.

From Service dog to SURFice dog!

A beautiful reminder of the amazing things that can happen when we embrace people for who they are. This lesson comes from a dog, but this is extraordinary.

My 120 pound journey

Need some running or weight loss motivation? This is a very powerful video about a young man who just decided to start running and do life. Plus Coldplay plays in the background which makes it extra amazing. http://bendoeslife.com

Drew Dudley: Everyday leadership

A fabulous reminder about how we can impact every person we meet.  Love this one.

Graham Hill: Less stuff, more happiness

The title says it all. This first started to make me think about moving out of my house. Could smaller spaces simplify our lives and make us happier? You tell me!

Dan Pink on the surprising science of motivation

It may really surprise you on what really motivates people, and this can apply to every facet of our lives and organizations. I read his book called Drive, and it was fantastic.

Thandie Newton: Embracing otherness, embracing myself

Thandie gives an amazing talk about how we must know ourselves first. Then we could see the beauty in all the people around us. She is an amazing speaker too. I watched this twice in a row when I first saw it.

Steve Jobs: How to live before you die

The title really says it all. Steve was such a passionate guy and you can see why Apple was such an amazing company. He was doing something so much more than making products. He was making our lives easier.

Susan Cain: The power of introverts

This is a very thought provoking video on introverts. It completely opened up my mind as a self-proclaimed extrovert who enjoys being an introvert more than you would think.

Brene Brown: Listening to shame

Another phenomenal video from Brene Brown about ways to understand how we deal with shame. This is a follow-up to her first video above. As it says on the TED website, “her own humor, humanity and vulnerability shine through every word.”
